James 1:5

As we come to the end of the week, let’s return again to the Key Verse that we began the week with. “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about this throughout the week, how does this passage speak more richly about what it means to discern God’s leading in our lives, and what God’s will is for us? What are some of the ways that God has given us understanding and guidelines to follow as we make choices? What are some of the ways that God can break directly into the flow of our lives and point us in a specific direction? What does it look like for us to live in a way that reflects a willingness to follow where God invites us and leads us, even when it might get a little challenging for us at times? More specifically:

• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of the wisdom that James invites us to pray for as we seek to follow where God leads?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you think about more fully embracing and embodying what it means to be responsive to God’s definitions of neighbors and family?

• What questions do you have, or struggle with the most, when it comes to how we can interact with the world around us in a way that genuinely reflects loving God and loving people? (Not just in what we declare to be true, but in how we actually live alongside others.)

• As you think back over your reflections this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards as you respond more fully to the love and grace of God in our lives?
