2 Thessalonians 3:5
• Why would you need God’s love and perseverance to direct you?
When I first met my husband, I was someone who drove like I was auditioning for Fast and Furious. Speed limits were polite suggestions, and each trip I took was more like a qualifying lap. (For the record, this is wrong. Go the speed limit, kids.)
My husband would always tease me about how fast I drove. When we became more serious, the teasing followed suit. “Can you try to drive a little slower?” He asked me sincerely at a Red Robin one night. “It worries me when you drive so fast. I don’t know what I’d do if you got into a car accident.” Whoa. I thought. This guy loves me.
And my husband does love me. It’s why he asked me to slow down. So guess how I drive now? Like I’m getting paid by the hour. I drive so slow now it’s like I’m in a Fourth of July parade. Why? Because I have more to lose. Because I know I matter to someone.
Knowing you’re valuable, treasured, and loved, changes the way you live. Today, I want you to know that you are profoundly loved by God. So live your life accordingly. Live like you’re loved.
