Scripture: Daniel 3:16–18

- How can you remain brave even when in a difficult situation?

A wise person once said, “Being brave isn’t ignoring danger; being brave is recognizing danger and doing what needs to be done regardless.” We do not become brave by ignoring what is difficult or scary. I used to be terrified of public speaking. My teacher’s advice was, “Pretend like no one is there,” but that was horrible because no matter where I looked, my classmates were still sitting in front of me, staring. I realized, after a few more speeches, that what I needed to do was become confident in what I was saying and focus on my words, rather than dwelling on what made me nervous. To find bravery, we need to focus on the One who makes us brave, our loving and present God. When we focus on God in hard situations, we will find the bravery to tackle difficult conversations, to speak up for what matters, to care for people whom others ignore. Where will you focus on next?
