Deuteronomy 5:32-33

As we come to the end of the week, let’s consider these words: “So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess” (Deuteronomy 5:32-33). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about God’s provision throughout the week, and the importance of understanding both the context of what we read and what is at the heart of living the way God invites us to live, how does this passage speak more richly about what it means to do just that? What are some of the ways that we need to exercise discernment as we respond to God’s invitation to follow his path for us with integrity? When we think about God’s command to love others as God has loved us, what does it look like to not turn aside to the right or the left as we seek to do that?

• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of what God is inviting us to do carefully as we seek to follow where God leads?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you think about more fully embracing and embodying what it means to exercise wise discernment in your walk with God?

• What questions do you have, or struggle with the most, when it comes to how we can interact with the world around us in a way that genuinely reflects the love and grace of God?

• As you think back over your reflections this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards?
