• How did Ruth demonstrate her devotion to God? How do you demonstrate your devotion to God?

Ruth’s devotion to God was expressed through dedication to her family. This is more relatable than you may realize. For many of us, our faith journey begins through family or other important people in our lives. Whether we are brought as babies, family friends, or guardians, it is the faith of others that gets us started in a relationship with God before it becomes our own. And as it becomes our own, we can pursue a personal relationship out of our care for the person who started us along. Today, I can proudly say that my relationship with God is a personal one, but for a lot of my life, my relationship with God was pursued because of my relationship with my mom. Things have to start somewhere, and that’s okay—that is still a genuine experience. Who are the people who keep investing in your relationship with God?
