Proverbs 3:5-6
• How can you trust in God’s direction rather than your own?
“The map says it’s right off of the highway,” I grumbled, passive-aggressively noting that my opinion was based on evidence.
“My map says we stay on for one more exit,” my husband said, everlastingly calm and diplomatic. Why did I marry a man so reasonable?
“How are our maps different? Mine literally says–” I grabbed his phone and instantly identified the problem. “Babe,” I gasped. “You’re a GOOGLE MAPS user?!”
His head fully turned from the road, eyes boring into mine, a flushed redness enveloping his face. “You’re…”
“An APPLE MAPS user,” I confirmed, nodding my head confidently. “How have we never talked about this?!”
This interaction just goes to show you never truly know someone, no matter how well you thought you did…but I digress.
Just like I’d stake my life savings on Apple Maps being the superior navigation app, the Bible promises that the path God is leading us down will only lead to good things. There are many maps in life we can choose to follow: our own, our friends’, our family’s, culture’s, the church’s, you fill in the rest! But there’s only one map that is inerrant. In other words, God’s map for your life will never lead you down the wrong road.
