God responds to our worship by being the same God who was before we began to worship. Through our worship, who God is becomes clearer to us. God’s eyes and heart were already with Solomon before he worshipped God by building a temple, and also, when the temple was completed, this became clearer to Solomon. Worshipping God does not summon God; it allows us to recognize who God was, is, and will be in our lives. We can worship God confidently, knowing that God does not depend on our worship to be God, but through our worship, we become more attuned to who God always is.
