Ephesians 1:17

• What’s the ultimate reason for gaining wisdom?

Who is the wisest person you know? Is it your Grandma Betty, leaning on years of experience that no one else in the family has? A family friend perhaps a scholar or educator who has devoted his or her life to learning? Maybe the wisest person you know is the family dog–my dog always had a sage understanding of rest and relaxation that’s inspirational to me.

Wisdom is coveted by many and gained by few. Ephesians 1:17 says: “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”

Did you catch that? We pursue wisdom for a purpose. That purpose? To know God. How can you pursue wisdom today?
