A Promise, A Birthright, A Basket, A Dream: A Change of Heart, A Change of Language

In the previous study, we explored the lives of the patriarchs as they received their divine decree, the promise God spoke over them. We examined their dilemmas, the circumstances that seemed to threaten or delay that promise, and their downfalls, the moments when they took matters into their own hands and faced devastating consequences. In this lesson, we continue that exploration by looking at their deconstruction, the ways they unlearned harmful patterns and beliefs. We will also reflect on their deliverance, the moments they encountered God and were forever changed, and their destination, the place where God ultimately brought them in fulfillment of God’s purpose.
