• How can you find enthusiasm about serving God?

I don’t know about you, but it can be difficult being enthusiastic about things I’m forced to do. When I was a kid, my youth group would go collect cans on Halloween to take advantage of the giving people do that evening. It was a clever method that always proved to be fruitful, but the difficult part was that it was forced. Our parents made us go that night instead of going out with our own friends to collect candy. Though our actions were helpful, we did not enjoy collecting cans. When I got a little older, I wanted to serve in our community, so a couple of friends and I would go downtown and help at a shelter. We loved every minute because it was what we wanted to do. If you want to find enthusiasm about serving God, you need to make the choice about how you serve. Taking ownership will increase your commitment.
