THURSDAY
Acts 2:17
• How do you know when God is speaking to you?
My mom loves to tell the story of a two-year-old me, groggy from a recent nap, waking up to a voice coming through my baby monitor.
“Lindsey,” my mom cooed. “Lindsey,” gently, softly, waking me from my slumber. As she watched her little girl on the monitor, she saw a sleepy face shift with confusion. Looking up to the ceiling, I asked in the most earnest little voice: “Jesus?”
How do you know when God is speaking to you? It may not be as clear as a voice through a baby monitor, but there are other ways to detect God’s messages to us. For example, the Bible holds timeless truths that can speak to us over and over again in a variety of contexts and situations! We can hear God’s voice in prayer, through friends or loved ones, in a worship song, in a poem, and through the prompting of the Holy Spirit. How can you hear God’s voice this week?
