FRIDAY
Colossians 1:9-10
• Who can you be praying for? Why?
“Okay, Paul, we’ve got a lot to do today. Hm… I’m looking at your schedule and we may need to move letter writing to tomorrow–by the way, can you tone down the sass this time? The Corinthians were a little offended last time. If we move the letter writing, that gives us more time to argue in the synagogue–yeah, I sent Agatha to smooth things over with those guys, don’t worry. Paul? Hello? Are you listening? Pay attention! Where was I…oh, yes. You’ve got to text Timothy. He’s been really down lately. Send him a little ‘You got this!’ meme or something, okay? Hmm…what else do we have…Gospel sharing at noon, check in with your parole officer…remember last week he was pretty hangry so I moved that to after dinnertime–you’re welcome for that–and then…oh, we’ve got more letter writing. Ahem! Paul! Are you even hearing anything I’m saying to you? You’re…you’re what? Praying? Still? You know…when I took this personal assistant job, I thought you’d cut that out every once in a while. Don’t get me wrong–I knew there’d be some prayer. Just not…you know, all the time. Every day. Constantly. It’s what?...well, I guess…Yes, I guess that’s true. You did promise the Colossians you’d pray ‘unceasingly.’ But I thought you meant that… you know, metaphorically. Like, pray every now and then in between taco runs and spreading the gospel. But this has been…non stop. It’s…well…huh? Why don’t I…join you? In prayer…?
Sure. Let me just put this planner aside. We’ve got nothing better to do.”
