It is not always easy to be bold about what you believe, especially around new friends or in new environments. It takes real courage at a stage of life when social standing can feel like everything. As you move through this study, you will be challenged to stand firm in your beliefs and live them out with confidence, trusting that God stands with you and supports you.

DAILY CHALLENGE

Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week.

• Look for a natural opportunity to talk about your faith. Ask a friend about their beliefs and share what your faith means to you.

• Think of something you can do for God that makes you nervous. Find encouragement to see it through.

When is it hardest for you to be brave for God? What can help you in those situations?

TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY

Read Acts 7:51-60 with your family, and discuss these questions:

• Do you have a difficult time bravely standing up for God when you know the response to your stand might be confrontational? Explain.

• What does the stoning of Stephen teach you about the importance of being brave for God?

Encourage family members to each collect a stone, write on the stone something brave they can do for God, and keep it as a reminder to live as Stephen did—trusting God even when it was costly.
