READ: Proverbs 18:10

(Answer the question/s below in your app notes)

• How has God been a strong tower of refuge for you?

While there have been times God has shown up for me in spectacular ways, I’ve also been blessed to learn how to see God in the little things. I’ve learned to find refuge in what others might label insignificant. I once went on a trip and left my car keys with a friend so he could move my car or use it if needed while I was away. When I came back, he had some rough news. His car had been broken into. His AirPods were stolen — and so were my keys, which had been sitting in the cup holder. I was stressed. I needed to get around. I didn’t want someone to eventually find my car and take it with the access they now had. My mind filled with worst-case scenarios. But I was reminded to pray, so I paused and did just that. Over time, I felt peace settle in.

I knew things would be okay. As I let go of the negative thoughts, I was able to think clearly and plan my next steps. I found a locksmith, worked things out with the dealership, and soon I was back on the road with a new set of keys. God is our refuge in both the spectacular moments and the small disruptions of everyday life.
