Isaiah 41:10

As we come to the end of the week, let’s return again to the Key Verse that we began the week with. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about God’s power, how God exercises that power, and how we are invited to live in response to the assurance of God’s power, how does this passage speak more richly about living in a way that reflects the mighty power of God? What are some of the ways that we see how God uses power to create, rescue, or redeem—changing our understanding of what power is for and not for?

• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of how you would like to appreciate and be responsive to the power of God in our lives?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you think about what it means to see power not so much in terms of what forces things to happen, but rather in terms of what opens opportunities for creation, rescue, or redemption?

• How does this passage speak to not only how we relate to each other one-on-one, but also how we are to interact with, and perhaps even advocate for, others on a larger scale? What might that look like for us?

• In what ways can you experience the power of God with you, even if you are not delivered from short-term challenges in the way you would like? In what ways can you rest in the power of God even when you are suffering or facing hard times?

• As you think back over your reflections this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards? As you prepare to enter more fully into your Sabbath experience this weekend, take a few moments to share with God in prayer what is on your heart.
