Revelation 14:6-7

• Write a prayer of worship to God for all he has made.

A few years ago, Brandon Lake’s hit song “Gratitude” exploded onto the Christian music scene:

All my words fall short / I got nothing new / how could I express / All my gratitude? / So I throw up my hands / And praise you again and again / Cause all that I have is a hallelujah, hallelujah / and I know it’s not much / but I’ve nothing else fit for a king / except for a heart singing hallelujah / Hallelujah.

Soon after this song was released, I took some of my students to go see Brandon Lake in concert. With a stadium choir, we all joined Lake as he sang the famous lines. It was nothing short of angelic. Similarly to King David, Brandon Lake penned these words as a prayer, then put music to them, and now we sing it in church. But it all began as a personal prayer to God.

What words would you like to say or sing to God? Write them down as a prayer and come back to them this week. Read your words out loud. Remember them as you go about your day. Live them out.
