READ: Job 2:3
(Answer the question/s below in your app notes)
• How is Job a good example? How would someone describe you?
YouTube channel HiHo Kids asked a bunch of young kids to describe their parents to an illustrator with hilarious results:
“My mom has a circle head…long, straight hair.”
“He is tall…about 42 feet.”
“Grandma has short hair. Afro. Smoking a cigarette.”
“[His nose]...It’s like all noses.”
“Draw a bear! He’s like a big, sleepy bear.”
If someone who knows you well was asked to describe you, what would they say? Job 2:3 tells us that God described Job as blameless, upright, a person who fears God and turns away from evil. That’s quite a description: especially coming from the One who sees everything.
Job wasn’t perfect, but his life was marked by integrity, faithfulness, and a steady trust in God, even when everything fell apart. That’s why he stands out as an example: not because his life was easy, but because his character held firm. Maybe a better question is this: If your character were sketched from the impressions you leave on people, would the picture look anything like the one God is shaping you to become?
