JESUS NOTICES A WIDOW'S GIVING

Mark 12:41-44

There are a lot of things in the world that can seem really exciting—video games, movies, clothes, and toys. Sometimes, it’s easy to focus only on what we want. But in this week’s Bible story, you’ll hear about a woman who gave even when she didn’t have much. Her story helps us think about others, not just ourselves. You’ll learn that giving to God isn’t just about money—it can also mean giving your time, your energy, and your prayers. When you give with a willing heart, you’re showing love to God and to others.

GROWING IN TRUTH

PLANTING THE SEED:

Jesus had a way of teaching that was so interesting that it made people stop to listen. It must have been His simple but believable illustrations. He didn’t just tell them about something and expect everyone to listen and do what He said; He showed them. He had His disciples watch as He quietly pointed out that a poor woman with two little coins, about equal to $2 today, gave more to God than all the other people who gave lots of money.

Key Verse: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Bible Point: Give cheerfully to God.

What’s Your Talent?

As a family, share the talents that you have and see in each other. Talk about how you can use your talents to help others. Have a talent night when all family members share their talents. These could be singing, playing an instrument, writing a poem, drawing a picture, or telling a story. Remember, when you give God the best you have and do it cheerfully, God sees it as more valuable than you can imagine because it comes from your heart.

READY, SET, GROW!

God wants us to give the best we have. By giving to others, we’re giving to God. Choose one person you’d like to give something to during this week:

• GIVE to someone in your neighborhood.

• GIVE to someone at school.

• GIVE to someone at church.

Write that person’s name at the bottom of the page. Then, choose something that you can give them. Make sure you follow through and give it to them.
