Jesus Is Born
Luke 2:1–20 | Hebrews 1:1–4
When you were younger, the Christmas story probably felt full of excitement and wonder. Now that you’re older, it might not hit you the same way—and that’s normal. But the story of Jesus’ birth still matters, even as you grow up. The real questions to wrestle with now are: Why should I care about this? and What does this have to do with my life today? Those are the questions we’ll tackle together as we look at the Christmas story in a deeper way.
GROWING IN TRUTH
DAILY CHALLENGE
Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week.
• Take a walk with Jesus this week (even if you need to stay indoors to do it). Take some time to be alone with Jesus, and tell him the things that you’re struggling with right now. They don’t have to be big things. Invite Jesus into every part of your life.
• Take a friend or sibling out, and really listen to what’s going on in their life. Take time to pray with that person, too, once you understand the things they are dealing with right now.
• Pray regularly about the gift you wrapped for Jesus. Do your best to offer him that gift this week.

TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY
Read Luke 2:19–20 with your family, and discuss the following questions:
• What can you learn from Mary’s attitude about Christmas? From the shepherds?
• What helps you glorify and treasure Jesus at Christmas?
As a family, look through any Christmas cards you’ve received. Consider what new perspectives on Jesus’ birth you could learn from the various cards. Or consider what false messages about Christmas the card communicates. Make a prominent display of cards that help your family glorify and treasure Jesus.
