We often think of giving as something generous we do, when the truth is that giving—whether it’s money, time, service, or effort—is always advantageous to the giver. Perhaps this is why Jesus continually urges his followers to be generous. Serving others is not only our job as Christians–a duty assigned by God all throughout Scripture—but it’s also a better way to live our lives. Serving others does not just benefit the recipient—it benefits us as well.
