1 Corinthians 13:4-7
• How can you show this kind of love to your family?
Love is easier when we know the value of the person we are trying to love. Family should always hold a deep value, even when it’s difficult. I have an older brother, and we haven’t always gotten along. Because of our age difference, it was easy for him to be annoyed by me, and I always had this urge to bug him whenever I could. I have to take ownership that I initiated a lot of the conflict when we were younger: barging into his room unannounced, stealing his clothes, accidentally deleting saved files on the gaming consoles, and the list goes on. I was lucky to have survived his wrath over all those years. When we became adults, I asked him why he never got angrier with me, and his response was, “At the end of the day, you’re my brother.” By remembering who I was to him, he could show me the love that is described in our verses for today, even when I made it hard for him to do.
