• WHEN you reflect on the Israelites and the golden calf, do you see their failure only as rebellion, or can you also recognize the ways fear, trauma, and uncertainty shaped their response? What does that change about how you view wounded people, perhaps even yourself?

• THIS chapter includes language from God that can feel difficult and unsettling. How do you respond when a passage of Scripture challenges your assumptions about God? Do you tend to wrestle, withdraw, or rush to explain it away?

• MOSES stood in the gap for struggling people instead of separating himself from them. What does his advocacy reveal about godly leadership?
