The Language of Faith (Part 2)

The God who says, “Come, let us reason together,” welcomes the questions and concerns that rise within our humanity. Throughout Scripture, we see people wrestle with God—Moses at the burning bush, Peter in conversation with Jesus, and Jacob, who clung to the angel until he was blessed. Such wrestling is not a disturbance to God; it is often the very place where God’s presence is most deeply known.

In our last study, we looked closely at the words and expressions in Abraham’s story that revealed the quiet, hidden struggle of his heart. In this lesson, we will journey further into these sacred moments, reflecting on the layers of challenge and faith that Scripture unveils, and imagining what it might have felt like to stand where Abraham stood.

In the end, we will see how God, in wisdom and mercy, brings resolution to Abraham’s story, and how God can do the same in ours.
