Jesus Tells About the Good Samaritan
Luke 10:25-37
This week, we will practice showing God’s love through kind words, welcoming others, and thoughtful actions. As we go through these devotionals, we can learn that care and compassion are for everyone, and together we can create a place where God’s love is shared.
PLANTING THE SEED
Jesus told this story: A man traveled along a road from Jerusalem to Jericho. As he traveled, robbers attacked him. They stole everything the man had and even took his clothes! The robbers left the man on the road to die. Later, a priest came by but didn’t stop to help the man. The priest just kept going. Then a Levite came by and ignored the man, too. But later, a Samaritan man saw the injured man and felt sorry for him. So the Samaritan stopped to help. He bandaged the man’s wounds, put the man on his own donkey, and took him to an inn. Then he paid the innkeeper to take care of the man, promising to pay any extra money owed for the man’s care when he returned from his trip. Now that’s showing love!
