Q4 Week 3

Oct 18, 2025

Bible Point: Jesus came to show God’s love.

Key Verse: “And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11).

Big Picture: Children will learn to celebrate that Jesus came to show God’s love.

Bible Story:

This week’s Bible passage (John 3:12-21) tells us that Jesus came to save us. Jesus said that God loved the world so much that God sent Jesus to die for our sins. Whoever believes in Jesus will not die but will have eternal life. Jesus is the light that came into the world. Some people would rather stay away from the light, because it shows the evil they do. Others want to be in the light because God helps them do what’s right. God loves us so much that God sent Jesus to save us.

Play and Pray:

Play a game of Tic-Tac-Toe prayers with your child. On a piece of paper, draw a Tic-Tac-Toe grid. With your child, take turns naming friends and family members who need Jesus. In each square of the grid, help your child write someone’s name, draw the person’s picture, or glue a photo of him or her. Using pennies for markers, play a game of Tic-Tac-Toe, but each time you place a coin on someone’s picture, pray for that person to come to know Jesus personally.

ASK:

- Why did God send Jesus to Earth?

- What did Jesus do for us?

- Why is it important to tell people about Jesus?

Faithful Flavors:

Make snacks with your child to show that Jesus is the light. Let your child dip pretzel sticks into yellow icing to make “candles.” For each candle your child makes, take turns saying why you’re thankful for our saving light—Jesus. Say a prayer with your child, thanking Jesus for saving us. Eat the snacks together.

ASK:

- How do you feel about knowing Jesus shows God’s love?

- Who can you tell about the saving light—Jesus?
