SCRIPTURE: Joshua 1:9

As we come to the end of the week, and think back over the passages of Scripture we have been considering, let’s return to the Key Verse we began the week with. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about this throughout the week, how does this passage speak with richer meaning about what it means to engage the battles that we face, fully clothed in the armor of God and with the assurance of God’s presence with us?

• What new insights have you gained this week about the nature of the battles we face and what it means to stand confidently, clothed in God’s armor?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you learn to live more fully in that armor?

• In light of this week’s reflections, how would you now describe what it means to be strong and courageous?

• Are there places where you feel resistance to approaching the throne of grace with confidence? What do you think that resistance is about, and what might it look like to more fully embrace your welcome there?

• As you look back over the week, what do you sense God inviting you to notice, trust, or step into more courageously?
