High school can feel like an emotional roller coaster, and sometimes even an entire theme park of emotions. It can be easy to feel alone. This study is a reminder that God is present in every high and low, offering help, steady love, and hope even in the moments that feel overwhelming.

DAILY CHALLENGE

Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week.

• With a pen, write a list of your fears on a piece of paper. Take a big marker and write the text of Joshua 1:9 over your list of fears. Post the paper where you will see it each morning as you start your day, as a reminder that God is with you when you face those fears.

• Carry something with you that will remind you of God’s constant presence this week.

• Ask an adult about how they have seen God’s presence in their life.

When have you felt most alone? Looking back, how can you see that God was there?

TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY

Read Psalm 22:1-2 with your family, and discuss these questions:

• Have you ever felt like God has forsaken you or was far away? Talk about that.

• Have you ever felt like you kept on crying out to God in prayer but it didn’t help? Talk about that.

• How can you explain that God is always with us, but sometimes we feel like he’s not?

• Jesus said the first part of these verses while he was on the cross. What does that mean to you?

Read Psalm 22:3-5 with your family. Talk about how you have seen God answer your prayers, and take some time to praise him together for being holy even when he seems far away.
