Philippians 4:8
As we come to the end of the week, let’s return again to the Key Verse that we began the week with. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (Philippians 4:8). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about this throughout the week, how does this passage speak with richer meaning about what it is that God is inviting us to focus upon and live in response to? What is included in the “such things” of this passage in light of what we have been reflecting on this week?
• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of what is involved in living the “blessed” life of the Kingdom?
• Where are the growing edges for you as you think about more fully embracing and embodying what it means to stay focused on the priorities that Jesus and Paul outline so clearly?
• What barriers or places of resistance do you sense are preventing you/us from more fully experiencing what it means to live the “blessed” life of the Kingdom we have been reflecting on this week? What do you think that resistance is about?
• Why is it impossible to separate our personal religious priorities from the way we interact with “the least of these”?
• As you think back over your reflections this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards?
