SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 15:58

As we come to the end of the week, and perhaps think back over the passages of Scripture we have been considering, let’s return to the Key Verse we began the week with: “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about this throughout the week, how does this passage speak with richer meaning about the challenges of what it looks like to stay focused less on what we can’t do, and more on doing what God invites us to do, even if it seems small and inconsequential at the time?

• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of how to face challenging situations which might seem overwhelming, or for which you feel like you have inadequate resources?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you fully embrace and embody what it means to see others and the things they struggle with through the eyes of Jesus, and not the way they may be regarded by the culture in which we find ourselves?

• Where are the places of resistance when fully embracing what it means to live faithfully, even in the midst of challenges and things that seem overwhelming? What do you think the resistance is about?

• What are you sensing might be mustard seed or yeast-like opportunities for you to be present as a transforming influence in the places you live or work?

• As you reflect on this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards?
