FROM PRAISE TO PARCHED

When the Israelites gained freedom from the Egyptians and began their journey toward the Promised Land, they encountered new challenges. Freedom introduced new desires, new forms of scarcity, and new fears. Yet God was not only the provider of their needs. God also understood the depth of their lack, both physical and emotional.

In this study, through the lens of grace, we will examine how the Israelites moved from rejoicing after walking across the Red Sea on dry land to mourning as they walked through the dry wilderness with parched throats. The same dryness that once signaled God’s miraculous deliverance soon became a reminder of their deep physical need.

This study invites us to recognize ourselves in their story, to extend grace to them, and to learn from the ways God meets humanity even in moments of scarcity.
