David’s expression of worship has been studied for ages by Christian scholars seeking to understand what is appropriate when worshipping God. People are divided, but David’s expression is genuine, and that is what makes it beautiful. They were bringing the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem—a powerful symbol of God’s presence among them. Sometimes, to express our whole hearts in worship, we need to remember how great God is. How have you experienced God’s greatness? Where did God show up for you in your life that made God’s greatness clear to you? Reflect on these things and experience how that affects your worship.
