This text reminds us that trusting in God leads to steadiness and resilience, even when circumstances are hard. There’s a difference between things being perfect and things being fulfilled. There’s a difference between things happening our way and things being fulfilled. Being fulfilled requires us to zoom out; it requires us to notice the things we have that we wouldn’t be able to survive without, and it requires us to appreciate the things we take for granted. Until Jesus returns, things will not always be perfect— or even fair—but we can trust our God who loves perfectly to lead us to being fulfilled. What are the things you could say bring you fulfillment if you shifted your perspective?
