Being a Christian is not about doing the right things but having a loving heart. When we focus on outward actions, we can have the wrong intention behind our actions. We can show up early for church service, spend time serving at the food pantry, sing up front, and yet not have a loving heart. While actions are meaningful, God wants us to be genuine. Sometimes, doing the action helps us become more loving, but when we start with love, the actions are experienced in a much fuller way. Don’t let yourself be driven by appearances; be driven by the love that Jesus put in your heart.
