When we are at church on Sabbath mornings, it can be easy to go through the motions of worship. We stand at the right time, close our eyes when everyone else does, and sing in community. And yet, God also sees us when we are away from the crowd. I used to depend on the church for my connection to God, but I learned that it was important to find time to connect with God outside of Sabbath morning worship: when I am in my house, when I am commuting to work, and when I am eating lunch. What we can give to God when no one is looking is our devotion, the same devotion and worship we pour out when we are surrounded by people.

What could you give that wouldn’t be seen by anyone but God?
