The Israelites Build the Tabernacle

Bible Point:

We all can serve God.

Key Verse:

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17).

Big Picture:

Serve God with your gifts and skills.

The Israelites Build the Tabernacle

Exodus 35:4-36:38

High school students often want their lives to matter and to be part of something bigger than themselves. This lesson connects that desire to a powerful truth: God works through a whole community, using a wide range of gifts to accomplish a purpose. The Tabernacle was not built by one superstar. It was built through willing hearts, practical skills, and teamwork for the glory of God.

DAILY CHALLENGE

Choose one or more of these Daily Challenges to do this week.

• Find a tangible way to follow up on your mission statement for serving.

• Give a portion of your money or resources to support a need in your church or community.

• Pick a skill you have, and do something for God with that skill.

FAITH JOURNAL

What’s the most creative way you’ve seen someone serve? How does that inspire you?

TALK WITH YOUR FAMILY

Find a spiritual gifts test online, and have everyone take it. Discuss the results and whether you agree with what your family members got. Then read 1 Corinthians 12 together, and discuss these questions as a family:

• How do our gifts work together to form a bigger picture?

• What could we do together to serve God that we might not be able to do on our own?
