Nahum 1:7

As we come to the end of the week, let’s return again to the Key Verse that we began the week with. “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him” (Nahum 1:7). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about this throughout the week, how does this passage speak more richly about what it means for us that God is a refuge in times of trouble, and the ways that God cares for us during those times? What are some of the ways God is our refuge, even if, in the short term, it does not mean rescue? What are some of the most significant ways God cares for us, especially during times of trouble?

• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of God being with us during challenging times?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you think about more fully embracing and embodying what it means to trust in God being with us, even if things are not going the way you wish they would?

• What questions do you have, or struggle with the most, when it comes to how God is with us or cares for us, even in the midst of tragic moments in which evil has done tremendous damage? What are the growing edges for you in these kinds of situations?

• What do you think about the significance of needing to listen to and for the voice of Jesus when seeking to discern where God is leading?

• As you think back over your reflections this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards?
