FRIDAY
Genesis 1:27-31
• What do you like most about God’s creativity?
When was the last time you heard a frog “ribbit”? The last time you heard a cat “meow”? A cow “moo”? If you pause right now, can you hear birds chirping or a dog barking? What about the sound of an ocean wave crashing majestically? Cicadas’ rhythmic echoing in the summer? Can you imagine the sound of thunder? Of wind? The smell of fresh rain? The colors of light bathing the earth? The hues of grass blades? The designs on insects’ shells or butterflies’ wings? The evasive glow of fireflies?
Author Morgan McCarver writes, “Ever since living things have existed, they have acknowledged God’s might, because He created them.” What if the sounds, sights, and smells of creation are all nature acknowledging God?
Even more important a question is this: how will you, God’s most treasured “living thing,” acknowledge God’s might today?
