CONCLUSION, REFLECT, CHALLENGE
CONCLUSION:
John’s portrayal of Nicodemus challenges our assumptions about who is most prepared to receive God’s truth. Sometimes those who appear closest to God may still be struggling to see clearly. At the same time, God remains patient enough to meet people wherever they are, even in the darkness.
The good news of Nicodemus’s story is that darkness does not disqualify someone from encountering God. In fact, it may be the very place where transformation begins.
REFLECT:
Are there areas of your life where you are approaching God more like Nicodemus, seeking information or certainty, rather than openness to transformation?
CHALLENGE:
Journal and Reflect: Nicodemus’ story did not end in John 3; his understanding grew over time. Looking back on your own spiritual journey, where can you see God patiently leading you from darkness into greater light?
