John 1:1-14

As we come to the end of the week, let’s return again to the Key Verse that we began the week with. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . . . The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1,14). Having now had the opportunity to think more deeply about this throughout the week, how does this passage speak more richly about what it means that the Word was God, and later on, that the Word became flesh and took up residence with us (verse 14)?

• What new insights have you gained this week in terms of what is involved in being part of God’s family?

• Where are the growing edges for you as you think about more fully embracing and embodying what it means to know that Jesus is God in human form, and has fully identified himself with us and has moved in with us?

• How do these verses help us better understand Jesus ministering for us in heaven?

• What barriers or places of resistance do you sense are preventing you/us from more fully embracing that we are the beloved children of God, and that we can live out of the assurance and awareness that that provides? If this is hard for you to fully do, why do you think that is the case?

• As you think back over your reflections this week, what do you sense God inviting you to consider, more fully embrace, or perhaps is nudging you towards?
