John 8:31-32

• How does truth make you free?

Albert Camus writes, “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”

Though you probably live in a country where you’re free, there are many ways we are limited in this world. We can be enslaved by our circumstances: addiction, poverty, mental health, and so much more. We can feel limited by expectations. We can be silenced by those in power. When Jesus says that the truth sets us free, it’s as much a counter-cultural declaration today as it was in the first century. Though we may be physically free, we can be warring with so many things mentally, spiritually, emotionally, relationally.

When we live knowing we’re free in Jesus, we live in truth. And that in itself is an act of rebellion in a world that does not always value truth. The truth will set us free. Will you choose to live in truth?
