Philippians 2:1–8

As we come to the end of the week, let’s return to the powerful words we began with. Philippians 2 reminds us that the life of Jesus not only accomplished something for us; it also modeled something for us. We are invited to adopt his mindset: one of humility, obedience, love, and radical self-giving.

This week, you’ve had the opportunity to reflect on different aspects of who Jesus is: Prince of Peace, merciful Savior, and the one who stands in the gap for us. As those reflections settle in your heart, what does it mean now to live “in the same mindset as Christ Jesus”? How do humility and love reshape the way you approach your relationships, your decisions, your view of power or position? Take a few moments to continue to reflect on the passage and the questions that follow:

• In what ways are you sensing Jesus calling you to descend, to let go of striving or control, and instead serve with His heart? Where do you see resistance within yourself to this kind of life? What fears or assumptions might God be gently revealing?

• And finally: what invitations from God have echoed through your heart this week? What would it look like to say yes?

Spend some time in quiet with God. Thank him for what He’s shown you this week. Ask Jesus to keep shaping your mindset; to help you look more and more like Jesus in both heart and life.
