Jacob Marries Leah and Rachel

Genesis 29:15–30

Props: Two scarves for “sisters,” moon-shaped paper or night-light

Say: Jacob traveled far across the land. At night he slept under the wide sky Jesus made: the sky with a glowing moon and twinkling stars. Jesus, Creator of Space, watched over Jacob every step of the way.

Show the moon paper or night-light.

Say: The moon shines softly at night. Jesus made the moon to give gentle light, just like His love gently watches over us.

Lay out two scarves.

Say: Jacob met two sisters: Leah and Rachel. He cared for them, and God cared for their whole family. Sometimes families are complicated. Sometimes people feel sad or confused. But Jesus loves families so much. He made the whole universe, and He made our families too.

Wrap the scarves loosely around your child’s shoulders.

Say: These scarves remind us of family hugs. Jesus holds our families close, even when things are hard. Jesus sees every tear, every smile, every moment.

Gently pat your child’s back.

Say: Jesus cared for Leah when she felt unseen. Jesus cared for Rachel when she waited and hoped. Jesus cared for Jacob when he worked and worked for the people he loved.

Point to the ceiling like looking at stars.

Say: Jesus made all the stars! And He puts His love in every family—big or small. When you look at the night sky, remember that Jesus is caring for you and everyone you love.

Whisper: Jesus cares for my family. Jesus cares for me.

Repeat phrase: “Jesus cares for my family!”
