An Angel Appears to Joseph

(Isaiah 7:13–14; Matthew 1:18–25)

Theme:

Jesus is coming—He brings life!

Props:

Soft scarf, bowl of water, cloth flower (optional)

Say: Joseph was surprised! An angel told him that Mary would have a baby, and that baby would be Jesus.

Jesus was coming to bring hope, joy, and life, just like water brings life to flowers and trees. (Dip fingers in the water and drip gently onto your hand or a cloth flower.)

Now gently wave the scarf over the children like a whisper. Let’s whisper together: “Jesus is coming.”

Repeat phrase: “Jesus is coming.”
