Philip Tells the Ethiopian About Jesus

(Acts 8:26–40)

Theme: Jesus welcomes us through baptism

Props: Toy horse or car, bowl of water

Philip met a man in a chariot who wanted to know about Jesus. So Philip told him the story of Jesus, and the man was so happy, he asked to be baptized!

(Pretend to roll the toy horse or car across the room.) Then they found water, and Philip dipped him under—just like this. (Immerse each child’s hand gently in the bowl of water, and bring it back up.)

Water shows that we belong to Jesus. Let’s splash a little! (Let children gently splash or touch water.)

Say, “I belong to Jesus!”

Repeat phrase: “I belong to Jesus!”
