God Protects Moses
Exodus 1:1-2:10
As you move through middle school, you start to see more of the world, and sometimes it feels a lot less safe than it used to. News, experiences, and the stories you hear can make you wonder if anyone can really protect you. You know your parents cannot shield you from everything anymore, so it is natural to ask if God can.
This week you will learn that God is present with you every single day. God’s protection does not always mean nothing difficult will ever happen. It means that God stays with you in every situation and gives you strength, peace, and guidance when you need it most.
This study will help you face your fears with confidence, knowing that God is your constant refuge and you are never on your own.
TRY THIS
Each person in your family should write two or three things he or she is fearful of on slips of paper. Place these in a small basket. Choose one out of the basket each day to pray for during your family mealtime or drive.
READY, SET, GROW!
• DRAW a picture of something that scares you. It can be anything from spiders to starting high school. Now draw a picture of what God’s protection means to you. Put both up in your room, but make sure to put the one with God’s protection on top as a reminder that God will ultimately prevail in all situations.
• TAKE home one of the paper wads from the “Protect Me!” activity. Pray daily for the person who wrote on that paper.
• WRITE the Key Verse on a sticky note, and put it somewhere you will see it every day.
