The Israelites were camping near a tall mountain called Mount Sinai. Early one morning, something amazing happened. The mountain was covered with smoke, and there was loud thunder and a trumpet sound. The ground shook, and the people felt surprised and a little afraid. God wanted to meet with Moses. God used the mountain and the sounds to show how powerful and important this moment was. Nature showed how strong God is. It can feel comforting to know that such great power is used to care for people. God’s power is always used to help and protect.
