Moses went up the mountain to meet with God. There, Moses learned about a special gift for the people. God gave him the Ten Commandments. Rules can sometimes feel hard, but God’s rules are good rules. These rules help people live safely, kindly, and close to God. God gave these rules because of love. The first commandment says that God should come first. When God is first, it becomes easier to follow all the other good rules.
