The Israelites were traveling through the desert and following Moses. One day, they stopped at a place called Rephidim. After eating dinner, everyone became very thirsty. But there was no water to drink. Imagine being very thirsty and not knowing where water would come from. That would feel hard and confusing. The Israelites wondered why they were brought to a place with no water. Sometimes things happen that we don’t understand. But even then, God is still near. God loves us and does not leave us alone. God was with the Israelites, and God is with families today too.

How do you feel when something is hard or confusing?

Dear God, help me be patient when I do not understand what is happening. Amen.
