The Israelites began to complain to Moses because there was no water. Moses asked them why they were fighting and why they were testing God. Testing God means asking for proof instead of trusting. God had helped the Israelites many times before, but they forgot when things became hard. When problems happen, people can choose to complain or choose to trust. God wants people to trust that help is coming, even when waiting feels hard.

Dear Jesus, help me trust instead of complain. Amen.
