It’s a tale as old as time: the celebrity you always loved is entrenched one day, out of the blue, in a scandal that changes everything. It shifts your entire perception of them. And, sadly, it sort of ruins them for you.

This has happened to me many times. And every time, I think to myself, how did they seem so great before? How could I not have known their true colors? The truth is this: people have never, are never, and will never be, worthy of worship. This is because humans are fallible—they fall and fail daily, and though the prettiest, smartest, most successful celebrities seem to be exempt from these struggles, this is an illusion. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Which brings us to an argument that the Bible makes constantly: God is the only One worthy of worship. God doesn’t fail, falter, and is never caught being faithless. Instead, God gifts us with generous love and showers us with blessing after blessing, all the while being all-powerful and keeping every promise. God is the only One worthy of it all.

Why do you think God is worthy of our worship?
